LOT Polish airlines ORD-KRK

Got my sister an award ticket to Krakow in business class on LOT Polish. PIT-ORD on United, 1 hr 19min connection, then LO to KRK on a 763.

Any comments on LOT's service from Chicago? I read a few reviews of their transatlantic service and they have not been complimentary.

I see that LOT has angled lie flat seats in business class but are they really only 18" wide?

I went to SNA last night to get her an e-ticket instead of having MP mail the paper tickets. Or would she be better off with paper?

Sorry - my experience on LOT was lmited from LHR-KRK. And what a great place KRK is!

Finally found the answer at skytrax, don't know how I missed it. ORD-KRK has the angled lie flat seats on that flight.

The reviewer thought it was a nice flight and recommending taking it vs a Lufthansa or other connection. I had been considering switching airlines but that would have required at least two connections each way IF the seats were available. But that would have been better than their old-style biz class seats.

Purchasing the nonstop roundtrip ORD-KRK-ORD would cost $2800 in business class. But when I checked the fare from/to Pittsburgh, connecting to those flights, the fare was $7800!

We flew LOT last fall from ORD to Warsaw then onto KRK. We did fly back via KRK to ORD. Service in cattle class on the 767 was fine, food good but it ran late but otherwise OK. Landing in WAR was rather humerous as all the Chicago polish on board clapped and cheered when we touched down.

Its not something to laugh at.Its a Polish tradition done for years , its meant to thank the pilot for taking all the people on the plane to their destination. If your so smart to comment something you don't know what it means then please don't.

I doubt any offense was meant. I think you can find humor in something and still like and appreciate it. :)

Several times over the years I have seen the pax applaud on a smooth landing - on domestic U.S. flights.

ERYKKK have you been stewing on that comment for 2.5 years and finally decide to reply?
