lost items on NWA
 

I left two expensive pairs of new eyeglasses on a NWA flight from Narita to Minneapolis on Saturday. I've been calling the lost and found line (612-726-2534) for the last two days, like 25 times during operational hours, and it just says over and over that there is no one available to assist me. Great. Has anyone had any luck getting stuff back that you've left on their planes?

EMD, although I've never left anything on the plane yet, it's been my general experience - people reply faster and more responsible to e-mails, they feel more obligated to do so if there is some request in writing.

There must be "contact us" section on NWA website, send e-mails to all available addresses, one of them will hopefully get forwarded to the appropriate person.

I took your suggestion and hose creeps (and I imagine they don't monitor the forum, I wish they did) have not emailed me back. I have called all week and everytime get the "no one here to help you, call back" recording. This is a joke. There is no lost and found, right? Just a stupid recording.

Unfortunately, I'm related to a chronic leaver-of-things-on-planes, and in 5 episodes, have never had any luck whatsoever, I'm sorry to say. But I got a lot of people scurrying around and calling distant places when I went back in person to the airport to whimper and plead, compared to a lot of music while I waited on hold on the phone.

Just a suggestion. Sometimes you can get some one person, bored with their job or not overly overwhelmed by it, who knows the ins and outs of chasing something like this down. So if you are in a position to go personally to a NW counter at yourr nearest airport, it MIGHT be worth a shot -- a longshot, but eye glasses are more expensive per ounce than saffron sometimes. (And you'd assume they wouldn't be of interest to someone on the blackmarket, but who knows?)

I, too, left a pair of eyeglasses on a flight into LGA last winter. I had the same luck as you with the Lost and Found line. Not wanting to give up, I finally begged a reservation agent into giving me the phone number for the World Club at LGA. With that number, I reached a wonderful lady who phoned the gate where we had just arrived (this all took place within hours of arriving). Someone had indeed turned in my eyeglasses at the gate and the World Club agent personally retreived them for me. I picked them up on our departure two days later.

You really do have to work to get a "live person" on the line. Keep trying.

I had given up hope, and new glasses are screwed up, not right, I can't see to read for work. My son's glasses were in there too, and he is a pitcher and can't see to pitch, contacts haven't arrived yet.

BUT I just got an email from a woman at NWA who is going to GO over to the last and found at Minneapolis airport and see about finding my glass case (which has ID in it). I am amazed! She is a real live person and she cares enough to do this. THANK YOU, Barbara D. She says chances are slim that they have them, but she is trying.

i havent experianced losing anything but when i was on an aeroplane back from thailand, a drunk man had two kids who had gameboy advances xps. Basically, they lost them and the drunk man was swearing and he kept threatining the air stewards when they tried to help. He got in a huge argument with his wife. I'm not sure they found the gameboys.
