Looks like a sale to London for Summer is happening

I just saw prices on Virgin Atlantic, BA and Continental (VIA Virgin) leaving Orlando on June 16 and returning on July 14 for $881.00.

I haven't seen $600 prices from Florida to Europe for high summer for years. This is a good price for summer travel.

perhaps it's a good fare for a non-stop from Orlando to London, but a 1 connection through Washington from Miami to London for the same dates is $786 all in on UA.

I would call this a good fare. I wouldn't call it a great fare. Depending upon how much stomach you have for such things, I think waiting might yield some bigger savings.

I think the airlines are hoping that demand will pick up at some point, but if things don't turn around really soon, then I think load factors could become really bad, even in summer. If that holds true, I think someone will get desperate to fill the plane and you could see an all-out fare war.

I'm not going to let myself get excited for anything over $600 or so. Worst case, I think fares like this one will become relatively common, even if we don't see rock-bottom pricing, so I see no reason to jump on anything this far out.

if we're talking ALL IN and summer travel to Europe then you won't be excited anytime soon.

AAFF - I'm not overly excitable. But, I think things are really dire in the TATL market. Loads are way off and I can't see the European airlines cutting enough capacity to maintain yields, since this is their bread and butter. With, seemingly, more bad news every day, I just don't think we are going to see much demand this summer.

I could be wrong, but I'll stick with my guns on this. Like I noted, I think the worst case is that we don't see rock-bottom pricing, but still see a decrease in the "normal" cost, such that you can always get into something for $800 or so.

Scandinavian Airlines is having a sale to Europe for summer, too. Prices under $1,000 including all taxes.

i know that London fares have dropped a great deal from Bombay, there are 4 direct flights and at least another half a dozen indirect flights into London, so competition is rife.

I had originally booked a trip from 7th April to May 2nd for a fare of 49000 INR($950/667GBP/748EUR) which was not too bad. Then the fares fell some more and we had Emirates at a 12% discount to above prices and Etihad at a 16% discount. We chose Etihad finally.
