long layover in MIA

Travelers do not want to leave airport or get a hotel room. Any suggestions for a good restaurant?

MIA was one of our frequent layovers between BDA-DFW - Little Miss txgirl and I never found anything really worthy of spending time at - hope things have improved for you in the last year or so, I know there was lots of construction going on. We'd take the transport to the remote terminal where the Starbucks was if we had time, but decent restaurants were sorely lacking there. Looking forward to someone else chiming in with more recent updates!

If you like sushi - there's a decent sushi restaurant called Sushi Maki in Terminal D near Gate 30.

For a complete list of restaurants/shops/amenities at MIA Airport visit their website: www.miami-airport.com - lots of info there.

The Hotel MIA is right in the middle of the airport (like IN the terminal) and on the top two floors are an excellent lounge and restaurant plus a running track and, I believe, gym facilities. Great views of the airport with large windows all around.

Depending on time of day it can be a very relaxing oasis or hectic.

As the previous poster has mentioned....go to the hotel in the airport and take the elevator to the top. A nice little sandwich type restaurant...a pool and gym. I think I paid something to use the pool and locker room--but can't remember the exact amount. I hung out at the pool...eating and drinking for about four hours. It really was a great place to spend my layover time--without leaving the airport!!!
