Logan Airport - Getting from one terminal to another

At Boston Logan airport, a person can walk from terminal C to terminal A without leaving the secured zone, right? I'm meeting my Aunt in Boston next weekend. She'll be flying into terminal C an hour before I arrive in terminal A and figured she could just walk to meet me at my gate, rather than trying to find another meeting place.

No, not correct; your aunt would not be able to meet you at your gate. You would have to arrange somewhere on the unsecured area of Terminal A (baggage claim, for example).

Well that's a surprising bummer. Thanks for the info.

You can't even go from one side of B to the other without going outside security, let alone C to A.

rkkwan, how can that be??!! I don't remember such nonsense last year, not that I was looking for it, but I do remember while waiting for my flight, taking a long walk around my terminal and never left the secure zone.

If you aunt is driving to meet you, there is now a cellphone lot at Logan - so you can call her when you land.

When picking up passengers at Logan I always tell them to meet me (in my car) at departure level rather than arrival level - this usually involves going up one level in terminal. Reason is that there is almost no space to pull over on arrival level car circle and the police let you stay about 2 seconds. On the departure level you get to stay a couple of minutes before the shoo you away.

aggiegirl - You must be thinking of somewhere else. Logan's terminals are all separate buildings, with no connection on the secured side. And Terminal B is basically two buildings opposing each other with the garage/roadways in between.

Terminal B is U-shaped, with different airlines located on the 2 sides of the U. However, the 2 sides are only connected LANDSIDE but not airside.

aggiegirl & rkkwan could both be correct.

Go to "Terminal Departures" and click on terminal B

If both pax are flying on airlines that share the same building in Terminal B, they can meet up with one another without leaving the secure zone. However, if they're flying on airlines that uses the 2 separate buildings (eg, US Airways & American Airlines), then even though both are in Terminal B, they are in separate buildings and separate secure areas.

aggiegirl, since your aunt is arriving first into Terminal C, if you want her to meet you at Terminal A (eg, baggage claim), she has 2 options:

1) Walk (landside), but I wouldn't recommend it; or
2) Take a (free) Logan Shuttle from the curb. Assuming she'll arrive between 7am-10pm, she needs to take the #11 Logan Shuttle, which serves all airline terminals. http://www.massport.com/logan/getti_typeo_logans.html

Yes, it is a l-o-n-g walk from C to A, though you can cut through the parking lot if you are not easily confused. I would take the shuttle unless she likes exercise.

Thanks for all the feedback. Last year, I think I was in terminal A. I've concluded that probably the easiest thing will be for my aunt to chill out in Terminal C when she arrives and then when my plane lands, I'll call her and have her meet me at the car rental place. We are renting from Thrifty, so we can shuttle there from our respective terminals and meet up and get our car.
