Layover and gym at Toronto Pearson

I have a five hour layover at Toronto Pearson. I'll be flying in from Newark and out to Europe. I understand I'll need to go through customs twice and security once. Does anyone have experience using this gym on a layover? Will I have enough time to get back through security and customs and make my flight? Thanks!

Here is the airport site that deals with connecting flights. You need to put in your itinerary and the airline(s) you are flying. http://torontopearson.com/Connecting.aspx#
It seems strange that you would go through customs twice. Customs deals with imports to Canada which presumably you are not doing. If you check your luggage straight through from your departure to destination, you won't even see it.
If you can transfer without leaving a secure area, you may not need to go through immigration procedures either. Your passport probably will be checked, maybe more than once, for security purposes, and many airlines run their own security at the boarding lounges.

Thanks for the link. I believe the gym is located pre-security, so flying in from Newark, I presume I would have to go through customs once and out through secured area then when I'm done at the gym, through security and customs again to get to terminal. Thanks for the info!

I think you are confusing 'Customs' w/ Immigration/passport control. If it is indeed landside, you will go through both to visit the gym (you'll have nothing to declare so you may not even realize you are going through Customs). Then on the way back in to the departure area (airside) you will go through security and have your passport/boarding pass checked.

There is no Customs involved when flying out.
