KLM Seat Layout

We are flying Amsterdam - St. Maarten in December, I hve been told the aircraft is not a 747 Jumbo, but a Boeing 744.

Have booked seats 2 A and C and 3 A and C.
Any comments on these seats? I am not familiar with the layout on this aircraft.

744 means it's the 747-400 version. KLM flies two types of 747-400s. One is full passenger, the other the "Combi" mixed configuration which uses the last cabin to hold cargo. Makes no difference for those sitting in the front.

Thanks for those links. I requested seats on the upper deck but were told no seats for the business class there. However, these links shows business class to be in front and on the upper deck.
Air France and KLM have merged, and looking at the Air France layout on SeatExpert.com there appears to be a 744 Caribbean Version where only 16 seats are Business and the Upper Deck is Economy.

Our seats looks good, thanks again for the link.

From what I understand, KLM and Air France are still being run as seperate companies under the same holding companies. It's very unlikely that you'll be flying an Air France plane on KL785 non-stop AMS-SXM and one-stop SXM-CUR-AMS on the way back. Especially since you're talking about the Netherland Antilles! I am sure a lot of Dutch will be extremely upset if they find themselves on a "foreign" airline!

Air France has its own flights from Paris CDG.

Airliners.net has several pictures of KL's 747-400 World Business Class, as well as many of KLM's approach pictures at SXM over the beach with 747-200, -300, -400 as well as MD-11.

Thanks again for these links. However, they both show Business Class on the Upper and Lower front deck. When I reserved our seats, I was told there were no Business on the Upper Deck.
Have in the past flown Air France from Paris to St. Maarten, and the Business section was in the front, not on the Upper Deck. So it is possible that KLM have some planes with the same layout.

Our assigned seats looks good, and we are happy with those.

I have some awesome pictures myself of Boeings landing in St. Maarten.
