A few months ago, JetBlue announced plans to charge for extra legroom, but I haven't heard any more about it. Have they started doing this?

Despite all the public grumbling about all these passenger fees I think the airlines have all been pleasantly surprised at the amount of added revenue they generate.

This certainly isn't the end of it all.

I hear JetBlue hedged on their pillow purchases and bought them before the prices went up, so unlike other carriers, which will be forced to sell their pillows for $15+, JetBlue will be able to sell them at a much lower cost to passengers.

Why does anyone need a pillow and blanket anyway unless you are on an overnight flight and want it for comfort and sleeping? You can buy your own, if you need it, on Magellan or many other sites and in stores. At least you will know it is clean.

I think only shorting pillows is prohibited.

tom, the answer to your question is "yes". By default (meaning that since the *cheaper* seats were no longer available) my husband and I ended up having to book the more expensive seats. I didn't like that. Oh well.

Jetblue also no longer sells headsets. You still get a snack and drink, free of charge.

Jetblue has been able to keep their fares relatively constant. However, I read that they will test the waters come January with increases.

I also believe the CEO of Jetblue took a $250,000 reduction in salary, but don't have a link to offer.

Jetblue now charges for a second bag. I'll be forced to pack light! Ha!

I could care about the pillow and blanket, because you can easily bring your own, should you need these to fly.

It's the selling of water, when you are NOT allowed to bring your own on board, that gets my goat!

I flew to Rome in May and brought my own water on board. I just carried an empty bottle thru security and filled it up after I passed thru the security check point.
