Japan to Thailand
ANA (in USA) quoted me roughly $700 for the round-trip ticket from Japan-Thailand. It's more expensive than I expected. Even a roundtrip ticket from USA - Thailand costs less than that. Would it be cheaper if I booked it thru travel agent in Japan? Any suggestion is appreciated.

ktny333-
have you thought of not doing it direct? I flew from Taipai to Bangkok- can't remember how much that leg was, but had to have been less than your quote. Try Thai airline |
travelocity shows fares on United from NRT to BKK for 509.
|
It would be nice to know when you plan to travel. But I must say that is a lot of $$$. For travel end October our fare from JFK (via NRT) to BKK was only $825 on United.
Time of year might have some effect on price. |
I'm travelling the end of April. I know it's a high season since it's around the Golden Week in Japan.

Ok, at travelocity, they now show a fare of $507 on United plus about $25 taxes. You can get that fare for departures (from NRT) any day of the week from April 1 thru July 3, except for the period April 25 thru May 3. So, leave on April 24 or earlier and you can return any day from the 26th to May 15. |
ktny333,
Just curious, but is this a side trip during your visit to Japan from US? or are you actually in Japan and just want to visit Thailand? If it's the first possibility, may I suggest that you buy a ticket to Bangkok with a stopover in Japan. Foe example: APR20 USA-BKK APR27 BKK-NRT MAY4 NRT-USA You could price this for only couple hundred dollars more than a straight USA-BKK R/T would cost. If you are in Japan, ignore the suggestion :-) |
