JAL Tokyo to Vancouver
Any comments regarding the business class service ?
|
Took the flight last month. Older 744 without shell seats, but JL has so many different cabin configurations that I can't say if that's normal or abnormal. My plane was showing its age. FYI, the flight continues to MEX after YVR.
Service was fine; had the western rather than Japanese meals (the main courses didn't appeal otherwise I would have.) Presentation looked excellent; the western meals were fine but not exceptional. The new Sakura lounge at NRT is very nice; on a par with or nicer than the new AA Admirals Club there. I was transiting YVR to a USA connection, so didn't have to endure the customs hall chaos at YVR; from where I could see it, it looked okay, but there were a couple of other heavies due shortly, so if I'd been getting off from the back of coach it might have been a different story. Flight was almost an hour late leaving NRT due to an electrical issue on the plane; "mob scene" pretty well characterizes the gate area. The driver made up 30 min. of it en route. |
I am surprised about the lack of shell seats !! I flew the route three years ago and they had them then ?? I was wondering if there were any changes, that doesn't sound encouraging . :(

Any changes ?? Any recent reports ??

Its frustrating that the Tokyo/Vancouver flight is done with the OLD OLD 747's and the Tokyo/LA flights are done with the newer plabnes with the lie flat business class seats !!
And don't get me started about how old the aircraft are on the Tokyo /Brisbane leg !! :( |
