EWR starts transition in May, finishes by June. LAX finishes by late September.

This means:

- no more executive economy;
- no C awards on this route from partner programs and double miles required from KF;
- fares will also go up. 4 engines, 18 hours, 100 passengers, you do the maths.

That's too bad. I figured one day I'd book an award in business class for LAX-SQ-SIN-TG/SQ-BKK-TG-LAX with a SIN stopover.

One additional question is what it means to passengers like me: those who already have a PE seat booked for summer travel. I have a PE seat from EWR to SIN, confirmed and paid for.

Will SIA keep me on the now all business class flight? Or, will they just say, "sorry, no more PE, good luck to you."

Frankly, its frustrating and, I believe, it leaves only one PE product to SE Asia, TG's.

tengohambre - Someone on Flyertalk.com is in the same situation as yours, and when he called SQ's US office today, they knew nothing about it, and didn't have any idea. This was despite the fact the new release came out from SQ directly today.

Give them a few more days and call...

But they need to be <b>compensated</b> for the downgrades. I think one should think about what he/she wants to do

- go with the one-stop standard coach and demand some sort of compensation

- ask to upgrade to the new J and demand a nice discount

- full refund, be one needs to figure out alternative airlines and their fares first.

Yes, my thought is that SIA will most likely offer us seats on the JFK-Frankfurt-SIN flight. Yet, I specifically booked SIA because of their PE non stop.

I did not and do not want the one stop via Frankfurt, and would have booked another airline in the first instance. Obviously it puts me in a bit of a bind and I've got to see how willing SIA is to work with me about other options, perhaps on some code share airlines.
