Is AirHelp legitimate?
Goingfrom Porto to CDG we were delayed by more than three hours. Our French friends think that EasyJet would be able to weasel out of compensating us (we missed out TGV connection at CDG). I am thinking that using an agency that has a financial interest in getting results (25% of the compensation) might increase our chances of a reimbursement. I am looking at AirHelp. Are they legitimate?

Why use an agency and pay them for something you can very easily do yourself?

Not me, but my son. He was severely delayed flying to New York to cover the US elections. He arrived just in time to start work rather than havinng time to get over the flight.
He wasn't going to claim as his company paid for the flight, but they said claim so he did and got a very nice sum from KLM. No problem at all. My brother has succesfully claimed against Easy Jet on a couple of occasions. I doubt using a company will make any difference tbh. |
I tried it out of curiosity—(Easyjet, similar situation except I was stuck overnight and luckily didn’t miss any connecting flight) and nada. I got kind of the scammy vibe off them, although that may not be accurate. Nothing bad came of it, though. I think Easyjet is ran by giant weasels and your French friends are right. |
I've received compensation from easyJet twice with practically no hassles at all. No need to use an agent/agency.
Passenger rights in Europe are pretty strictly enforced. EasyJet is just fine -- as long as you follow the rules. Just be glad you weren't on Ryan Air ;) |
I decided to apply for compensation on my own. The result is that we are getting $849 in compensation. Thanks for the advice.
