Is 2 hours at JFK enough? AA flights
Hello, all, I'm flying San Francisco - Zurich with a stop at JFK, is 2 hours between the planes enough?
Most likely I'll be buying a ticket from AA (have a $40 voucher, ha ha!) as it's the cheapest for now, so I'll check in the suitcase in SF and get it back in Zurich without getting it in JFK and checking back in, is this correct? The itinerary says: AA SFO-JFK, AA operated by Swiss JFK-ZRH. |
Call AA and check which terminal Swiss Air is located. I haven't flown out of JFK in awhile, and there has been major construction and changes in the past few years. But as I recall, they do their best to keep partner airlines in the same terminal. If that is the case, then 2-hrs no problem.
If you have to go to another terminal, and aren't delayed ariving from SFO, it shouldn't be a problem. Just call the airline for the information. |
Unless things have changed at JFK in past 2 years - if your flight to Zurich leaves later in the evening, bring some food with you. At such an international airport, it was amazing how early food places closed.

You should not have any problems. I had a 50 minute connection thru JFK on my way to Istanbul in November and had enough time to grab a drink and quick browse in the duty free store.

Your flight from SFO will arrive Terminal 9, while the LX flight to ZRH departs Terminal 4.
The AirTrain runs every 2-4 minutes, and takes just a few minutes to get from 9 to 4. So, no big deal. 2 hours is plenty. |
Thank you, all, I feel better now!
