Into Denmark

My wife has an opportunity to attend a conference in Denmark (Originally thought it was Amsterdam. Turns out to be Denmark.)this August and I'm looking into the options.

If you could choose any airline(s) to get there, which would you choose and why ?

We are closest to Buf, Cle & Pit but understand that (usually) best fares are out of NYC (or maybe Toronto which is bit closer than NYC.

Really appreciate your input !
Thanks

This is an easier to answer than AMS, as you have fewer one-stop choices. From those airports you listed, one-stop choices are via:

ORD. SK (SAS) flies ORD-CPH non-stop.

EWR. Both SK and CO fly EWR-CPH.

JFK. SK flies JFK-CPH.

ATL. Whole trip on DL. A bit longer combined flight time.

Or you can fly CO's new CLE-CDG flight and then connect to Air France.

All the CO flights I listed are on the narrowbody 757.

I think if you're tied to any FF program, I'll pick a UA/SK connection via ORD, even if it's backtracking a bit. Or DL via ATL. I'd avoid JFK/EWR in August.

One correction - I am 99.9% positive that SK does not fly from JFK to CPH. They do, however, fly from Dulles, giving you another 1-stop option. It is usually easy enough to get an itinerary with a UA connection, particularly to Dulles.

As for product, I think SK beats a CO 757 in all classes. SK probably beats DL in all classes, though DL's coach product is more competitive than CO, if only because it isn't as cramped as a 757. I'm not sure the difference is that noticeable, though, that I would pay a premium above $100-$200 or so.

On the plus side for DL and CO, is that cheap coach fares on SK earn only 25% miles, so if you like to collect them...

They fly from Newark.

Yes, thanks for the correction. And in my original post, I mean if the OP is NOT tied to a FF program...

SK via ORD or IAD is indeed the way to go.

SK's premium economy service is excellent. Consider it well more than a step up from your alternatives.
