Important Travel Information at Airport Gate--NOT

We are currently functing at "Code Orange." Important information?? So important we need to awake the sleeping babies and make them cry. This announcement was made every 15 minutes yesterday at the Houston InterContinental Airport.

How about this important announcement at the gate. The TSA has only allows three ounce bottles of liquids through security and they must be in a zip lock bag.

How about, "This airport is a non-smoking facility." Don't you think a sign could handle this information, or do you think they should announce this every five minutes?

What airport has the most announcements? What other announcements are really not necessary? I'm afraid when a real emergency occurs, everyone will just ignore it.

Last summer when I was at London Heathrow airport, a sign mentioned that only final boarding class would be announced to help eliminate airport noise. Would that be a good idea?

Post them here.

How about the annoying announcements curbside such as

"The red zone is for immediate loading and unloading of passengers only. There is no stopping in the white zone."

I agree IAH is horrible with the announcement. Absolutely ridiculous. I've totally tuned out of them I don't even "hear" them anymore. Not sure if it's still there, but there was also an announcement that "the City of Houston cannot ban solicitation at the airport, but you should ignore those solicitation" or something like that, every few minutes.

How about the one at Houston, joking with TSA officials can get you arrested.

I got an earful of "Welcome to terminal two at Phoenix Sky Harbor, America's friendliest airport..." after going through security at 6:15 am this morning. I wasn't in a very "friendly" mood, seeing as I have a two hour delay.
