Icelandair Delayed Baggage

We flew Business Class from Chicago to Paris on Icelandair. My fiances bag did not arrive. The luggage service counter (Alyzia) told us our bag would be delivered to our air BnB the next day by 5pm. Well, it's 5 days later and still no bag. I have had zero luck trying to find someone at Icelandair or Alyzia to help. I have never encountered a worse case of customer service. To add to our frustration, my fiancé had all of her clothes and items in it. We have spent $1,500 euros in clothes since we had engagement dinners and running events to attend. At this point, we have no idea where our bag is, who can help us, or if we can even expect to be compensated. The majority of our engagement trip has been spent on-hold, trying to track our bag, and running around buying clothing needs. Icelandair and Alyzia are seriously inept in customer service, and I would strongly advise travelers to think twice before booking on this airline. Any ideas on a next step for us? Thank you!

Presumably you completed a lost luggage report and on that report you should have some info eg ref no, phone number, email etc so you can call and chase up.

Don't expect an airline to reimburse $1,500 either, unless they gave you authority to spend that much. What did you discuss with them in terms of how much can be spent on essentials? But I'm sure you've taken out travel insurance to cover delayed luggage, right?

Sorry about your misfortune. The reviews on Icelandair are spotty at best. Did you check them before booking?

Travel insurance is a must for us though some, perhaps most don't ever buy it.

Good luck getting your things back.

Terrible. Banks and airline companies from Iceland or owned by Icelanders have a bad reputation in Scandinavia. Try calling your home insurance if it includes travel insurance, you may have better luck with them.
