Iberia seat selection

Planning to buy JFK-Naples tickets with a connection in MAD. The trip will be in May. Coach price is about $850 so think I will book soon. If I book on the Iberia site, will I be able to choose my seats online? (I don't see any mention of seat selection yet...) JFK-Mad flights are on 340 and 346..any tips on booking emergency exit or bulkhead seats?) I am a member of Iberia Plus.

No.

If they have no on-line seat selection, how are seats assigned? At the airport check-in? By calling after the reservation is booked and paid for online??

Don't recall if IB offers online check in, otherwise at the airport, unless you have Iberia or Oneworld frequent flyer status, and even then it seems IB is loathe to preassign seats.

Goes for business class as well as coach, BTW.

Phone them and ask - they won't charge you for the question.

Thanks, I will call them.. are you thinking that that price seems very high??

fwiw- I'm flying Iberia next month, via an AA one world ticker. AA was able to assign me seats (BC) on my flights, so it seems like Iberia would do it for you.

Good luck!

Not especially.

My batting average with IB honoring business class seat assignments made through AA using a Oneworld ticket is something under .250. Get to the gate early and be prepared for surprises.

Ah - thanks for the tip Gardyloo! No chance of being bounced out of bc, is there?

IF you need to check where emergency exit or bulkhead seats are go to www.seatmaestro.com. They have the seat maps and if you are lucky you may be able to find some comments about those seats.

paquitoucla, perhaps it's time for you to have another read of Fodors' TOS regarding advertising.
