IBERIA anyone?

I've heard 2 bad stories about Iberia lately (TransAlantic flights), then did some search here, and found some bad stories dating back to 2001-2002.

So, I'm wondering, is Iberia still standing out to be so bad?

I have not flown them trans-atlantic, but have flown them within Europe several times with no problems.

I've heard their transAtlantic service is still good--free drinks in coach--but I flew them from Barcelona to London recently. The flight started out great. I was given an exit row and a free newspaper (in English) but when the food came around I had to pay for everything. And I mean the coffee and the water were NOT free. They use a 747-300 from Miami to Madrid so I'm not sure if they have the individual tv screens. Does anyone know? I'm thinking about that flight.

It is extremely unlikely that Iberia will have individual screens for coach on the old 747-300. Very few airlines have retrofitted the 743s with such system, for coach.

It's becoming common for European airlines to not offer even drinks for free for intra-Europe flight. Aer Lingus charges 1 Euro for coffee/tea.

I am not as interested in Iberia's in-flight service... I am concerned about flights being cancelled, passengers being stranded due to over-booking, etc.

Mamamia, If you go to:www.cnn.com and click on the Travel section yesterday they had an article I believe about Iberia cancelling some routes. I did not read the article so not sure what routes.
