how to check for past flight history

My daughter and I will be flying into an airport from 2 different airports. Is there a website that tracks the past history of flights, in terms of delays. I think that info would be helpful in choosing our flights. Also, is there a site that tracks the history of airport delays by date? Since we will both be flying out of northeast airports, I'd like to know what the history of delayed or canceled flights is. Thanks for your help.

Flightstats.com give you 2 months history of a flight after you sign up for free. For longer, you need to pay.

Bureau of Transportation Statistics have raw data from Jan 1995 to Nov 2008. http://www.bts.gov/xml/ontimesummary.../src/index.xml

I also use flightaware.com to find specific take-off and touch-down times. It gives you a week history, or 4 months if you sign up for free. I signed up when they just started the site, so I got 7 months of data.
