Both companies have stressed that they are merely "talking" about it; the merger seems pretty inevitable IMO.

Can you believe how the lowly have risen if this goes through. US Airways is really the old America West perhaps the only remaining of the start up airlines of the 80's. I wonder if Amrica West oops US Airways (AKA Alegheny Airlines, remember them) wo;; emd i[ beomg tje dp,omamt aor;ome of tjos ,erger gpes tjrpigj///////

..the last setence makes no sense...one key off with my left hand but should read who will end up being the dominant airline if the merger goes through......

....yup I remember fliping HP airlines for trans-continental trips despite the connections in Phoenix to get to SNA because of the policy of free drinks...("as always on America West airlines all drinks are free" despite the fact for a long while they served pepsi products!)
