How is Air India's non-stop to Delhi?

I usually fly Continental non-stop from Newark to Delhi. I'm looking at Air India non-stop JFK-DEL because of pricing.

Continental has been fine, but I don't want to go from the frying pan into the fire just because of price.

Any words of wisdom from travellers who have flown, or know those who have flown, CO and AI to India?

Thank you.

A colleague of mine has flown the route and tells me it was a great flight. New plane (777?), great service, etc.

When are you flying? If it's really far in the future, I will worry about the non-stop being cancelled.

I would be travelling last 2 weeks of December and cancelled flights is a concern.

I read some internet comments about the 'quality' of the flight... just Google 'Air India' and get some additional info...

Jaya,
Check out this site to see what past passengers have to say about AI

Thanks everyone for replying. Will look at the suggested websites.

The JFK non-stop will have better service than regular AI flights because it's so empty.
