How is Air France's economy class?
 

Can someone tell me what i can expect in the Tempo (long-haul)or economy class in Air France. I am going to be flying in their A340-300 aircraft from Toronto to Paris. Does this aircraft have PTV's and how is the food?

I will greatly appreciate your responses.

We were quite pleased with the service since it was even better than the previous time we flew them.

the food is surprisingly good. (bread, wine, etc...) seats are the usual and i think you do have the individual video screens. enjoy!((Y))

I did a RT IAH-CDG with a free pass several years ago. The seats and food were VG and the unlimited French Vin Blanc/Rouge was fine.

I flew AirFrance about a year ago and had very good flight experience (Montreal -Paris-Delhi)

I am using them again in April to go to Paris.

I think it is one of the better airlines.

I used Air France Coach/Economy many times Bangkok to Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City and they were excellent, sadly they no longer do those routes.Fine food, efficient and friendly crew. I know that many years back they did not have such a good reputation but I would but them as one of the best of European carriers.

We flew AF economy from JFK to Paris last July. I don't know anything about aircraft, but our seats were very uncomfortable as we had the last set of 3 seats before the plane's "waist" allows only 2 seats in a row. Not sure if that makes any sense. It was alos incredibly HOT - not elsewhere in the plane, just where we sat. (Our seats on the return flight were MUCH better.) So I can't criticize the airline, but we just happened to be unlucky and get the worst seats on the plane. It was almost unbearable.

We had beef bourguignon on our way to Paris that was delicious. Can't remember what else, but the food was quite good both ways.

Flew with the same aircraft to and from St. Maarten to Pairs last month. Booked seats ahead, rows 28 and 29 by the window, good seats., although next time I will try to pick row 26, as it is further from the WC.

Seats were good, personal video screens with good selection of channels. Food was the best I have had in economy for a long time, 4 coure dinner with a small bottle of plantes punch and small bottle of wine. In addition there is more wine on the free trolley and other drinks.

Service was excellent, will definately fly with them again.

Have you compared the price in economy vs Club Alize? In our case, it was only £20 difference, so we flew that class from Paris to St. Maarten. Choice of meals and the seats was wider, with footrest and reclined nearly horisontal. Well worth the extra if you can get it, (it was full on our return).

I believe Alize only exists on service to the Caribbean. From North America to Paris, the classes of service are Tempo (economy), L'espace Affaires (business), and on some routes L'espace Premiere (first). The cost difference between Tempo and L'espace Affaires is much greater.
