Help needed...Anyone ever use Lessno.com to book plane tickets to Europe
Good morning,
I was using Mobissimo to look for plane tickets for 3 to Paris (2 adults, 1 child). Mobissimo brought back a really low fare on Lessno.com Dates of travel are as follows: Depart: Thursday, November 27, 2008 (Thanksgiving day) Return: Friday, December 5, 2008. I have checked all of the major US airlines (NW, DL, AA, UA, CO) along with Travelocity and Orbitz and all came back with a fare of $862/ticket. Lessno.com has tickets for the same period (flying on NW) for $591.51/ticket or $564.00/ticket if we come back a day earlier. Prior to last night I had never heard of Lessno.com, so I am a little leary of using them/providing them with a credit card number. Price seems to good to be true, but I haven't seen anything this low to Paris in quite a while. Should I use them or just wait and see if ticket prices from other well known websites come down in the future? Any advice is welcome. Thanks in advance. Mike |
Anyone?

I checked out Lessno and it seems to be like farecompare and kayak. I don't think you actually pay them I think if you select the flight it will send you to the website of the company offering the price. Did you choose select and see what happens? Have you put the same request in at Kayak? That is the way it usually happens - once you choose the flight it sends you to the company's website eg orbitz, cheaptickets etc.

I just tried it again and I see that you have to be a member - so perhaps you do buy it from them. I know when I put in the route I was interested in they were not as good as the ones that Kayak found.
Did you try asking at tripadvisor? |
As traveller69 said, be sure to click Select and see if Lessno can come up with the fare.
I found fantastic deals on Lessno, only to click on the first ten choices to find that each fare "is no longer available." The fares that were available were good, but not great. I was only interested in the fantastic ones, so I didn't make a purchase. |
Thanks for the heads up...
I went to the site this evening and they had 3 tickets from Orlando to Paris (2 adults and 1 child) for $1693.04 on Northwest. Best I could find on any other site was about $2250 for the date we're going. I went ahead and purchased the tickets and got a confirmation e-mail noting that the resevation was successful. E-mail also noted that prices are not confirmed/finalized until ticketed and that the itinerary should be ticketed with 48 hours (let's hope there's not a price increase). Already checked on the NW website and they show our reservation, but no ticket numbers yet. Also checked my credit card online...no charges yet, but there was a $1 temporary authorization for Lessno. Hopefully all will be taken care of correctly. As soon as the itinerary is ticketed, I will be purchasing travel insurance. Thanks to all who responded. |
Let us know how it goes, please! :)

It appears all has gone well. My credit card was charged a little while ago and I looked on the Northwest website and they now have our ticket numbers.
Admittedly, I was a little worried when I began the process becasue I had never heard of them, but in the end I got a great deal on 3 r/t tickets to Paris. Just to protect my investment, I will be going online tonight to purchase travel insurance. Thanks again to all who replied. |
