Heathrow Airport Transfer
We are looking at a flight from the United States headed to Basel, Switzerland that has a 1 hour lay over at Heathrow. Given the upgraded security issues, will this be enough time?
|
There are others who here who are real experts on Heathrow who can tell you if this connection is ok. If it's on BA and into Terminal 5, then I'd say it's probably ok, but I'd like to hear from someone who actually flies through the airport regularly.
The real delays are on flights TO the U.S., not on flights FROM the U.S. Just be aware that you may be subject to more stringent carry-on baggage limitations if you are flying soon. |
Depends on where you're starting, the airline(s) and the terminal(s). More information will help.
|
Of course it would. I apologize. I am arriving to and leaving from Terminal 5

You ought to be fine; assuming it's all on one ticket, BA will put you on a later flight if yours arrives late. Early morning arrivals at LHR are subject to congestion, so I'd imagine 1 hr. is about as short a connection time as they'd allow. Look for signs for "flight connections" when you get off.
|
One ticket - you'll be fine. Even IF you miss your flight (a possibility) they will put you on the next available flight.
So assuming you booked BA straight through to Basel, don't sweat anything. They'll get you to Basel even if it is a few hours later. But - if the flights were booked on two different tickets -- even if they are on the same airline -- then you are sol. |
It really depends !!!
