heart pacemaker and security

Did a search here for "pacemaker" and nothing, zero, came back. Surprised me.

But anyway, I'm the owner since last Thrs of a heart pacemaker. Would rather have skipped the need, but all things considered, I'll count my blessings that I have it with no other circumstantial problems. Soooo, next week we fly to Barcelona to board a cruise ship. Any experiences/advice regarding having a pacemaker with airport security? (Leaving via LAX). Thanks all.

regards - tom

My stepmom has a pacemaker. She tells the TSA agent about the pacemaker and they will search her without the use of the metal detector. When traveling to other parts of the world, she simply points to her pacemaker and the people operating the metal detector always understand what she's saying, even if they don't speak English.

TSA agents and other folks who operate metal detectors are accustomed to helping people with pacemakers. I'm sure you won't have any problems.
