headsets on Delta international-fee or free?

We're flying from Dallas to Amsterdam next Sept. on Delta. I looked on seatguru and saw that each passenger has his/her own video screen. Does anyone know if that means that we'll also get the earbuds or headsets, or is there a fee? On our past few flights there was a fee, even on international flights, so we brought our own. Thanks.

Typically, entertainment on international flights is free. A few airlines charge for the actual headset (particularly if it requires the odd 2-prong plug), but I've never paid for that on any international flight ....ever ... on any airline (note, however, that flights to Hawaii are now considered regular domestic flights for U.S. airlines, and most charge for food even, which is just galling to me since you can be stuck on the plane for 10 hours, but I digress. I have been asked to pay for a headset on a few domestic flights.

I know that Delta charges for movies on demand on their domestic flights but not on international ones.

Last summer we flew Delta from Atlanta to Venice and there was no charge for headsets. As Doug says, the only time I've been offered sets for a fee has been on domestic flights.

Thanks guys. I'm almost certain, but could certainly be mistaken, that on our last 2 international flights on USAirways they charged for the headphones. I had packed two for us, so we didn't pay any fee.

OK ... I actually believe that without question. USAirways is ... USAirways. I've never flown them internationally, and the idea just scares me too much regardless of how much I'd save.

Headsets are free on Delta international flights. The headsets they offer are not very good though, so I use my own headset.

I agree with zoecat. The headsets they give you are poor quality. Take your own.

Your a long way out from your flight so aircraft can change. It's possible you are on a codeshare with KLM since you are going into Amsterdam. You should have a choice of movies, tv shows or music.

Anybody here remember the old stethoscope / hollow plastic tube headsets from ages ago? I dug one up in an old box of stuff recently...
