Great CapitalOne Venture Credit Card FF match up to 110,000 FF miles

Just did this...

Best FF match/deal I have seen lately you still get to keep your old miles.

It's Capital One's Venture "Match My Miles" Challenge

http://www.capitaloneventure.com/#/Welcome

After credit card approval you'll need to submit proof of your current mileage account balance, then spend $1k on the card within 90 days and they'll match your account balance up to 100,000 miles. (Competing statement must be received within 45 days of account opening.)They've capped the matching program at "one billion miles." I suppose it's an open question how long that'll last but we should be good for a month. Though the offer also ends May 13.It's unclear if you have to show you've earned 100k miles from a co-branded credit card or if you have to have 100k miles in your account. It almost certainly has to just be the latter, since the FAQ says what you have to do to receive the miles is "Reserve your miles by registering online and submitting proof of your airline miles within 45 days of being approved for the Venture card.

They will 'match' Alaska, American, Continental, Delta, Frontier, Hawaiian, JetBlue, Spirit, United, US Airways, and Virgin. They'll also match Airtran (1000 miles in their program per credit) and Southwest (1200 miles in their program per credit).

There's also a 10,000 point account opening bonus that you'll get after qualifying spend as well, so it's really a 110,000 mile signup bonus. New Venture cardholders who spend $1,000 in the first 3 months will automatically receive the one-time bonus, in addition to the matched miles. Existing customers who upgrade to Venture are not eligible for the 10,000 bonus miles. So for folks who have a mileage account with 100k miles in it, they can get an $1100 credit towards paid airfare by signing up for this card.

Great deal Venture Card has NO foreign exchange transaction fees so great for travel.

No fee for the first year for the card.

flyertalk.com FF miles for ongoing thread about this.

Enjoy and happy FF mile flying!

As usual there are catches. One big one is they are not matching all miles in an airline's program, just miles earned from certain credit cards.

For example, say you have 150,000 Delta SkyMiles of which 50,000 were earned from the American Express Delta SkyMiles credit card. This promotion will only match the 50,000 miles.

Also, the matching miles are not put into the airline mile account but rather into the Venture Card miles account.

Nonetheless, it may still be a good deal for some people.

How are they determining which miles r from the credit card versus miles earned flying? What is the time frame for the earned miles to be transferred? Thanks

Reserve your miles by registering online and submitting proof of your airline miles within 45 days of being approved for the Venture card.

Spend $1,000 within 90 days of approval to get your miles.

It is a GREAT DEAL for folks who use CCs a lot and have

lots of FF miles on different carriers they can get matched

up to $1100 of value for a new card $1000 for an upgrade

best I have seen lately for good CC miles offers...

snagged 100,000 on a BA.com card last year 200,000 for 2

cards for my wife and myself.

This the only thing I have seen lately that matches it.

Happy Flying!

From their FAQ:

"You'll need to submit one airline rewards statement as proof of your existing airline credit card miles. We will look at the total miles balance on the statement; understanding that in some cases it's hard to separate the miles earned via an airline credit card and the miles earned from flying. We will accept the following as validation of your current miles balance:

Eligible airline credit card statement
Frequent flyer miles statement associated with the eligible airline credit card program
Screen print of your online miles account summary from the eligible airline credit card program
You must be listed as the primary account holder and your statement must be dated within six months of the time you submit it. Statements can be submitted online, by fax, or mail. All statement information will be kept confidential."

I don't think they will actually divide up what miles you earn from flying and what miles you earn from CC spending. But you need to at least show you do have that airline's CC linked to that FF account.

Betty, your post was in the Lounge and not everyone goes there. So it was not a repeat posting here, and was appreciated.

Almost all of my miles are from CC spending and CapitalOne seems to be accepting them. I received this message upon registration:

"Now that we have received your registration form and airline rewards statement, your 100,000 new VentureSM miles have been reserved."

Things seem to be OK so far. Let's see if the miles post.

I am in too, I already got my card, I have my miles reserved and now just have to spend spend spend. Only downside is they will only allow submission for matching from 1 card, not multiple cards to add up to 100,00 miles. But this still seems pretty darn good. I will know when it comes time to try to redeem :)
