global entry/ tsa precheck?
 

We have been approved for the global entry program. Are we eligible for the tsa recheck for domestic flights as a beneift of this? How do we register for this? Thank you!

Yes, you are. You are automatically enrolled. Go to the website(s) for the airlines that you use and enter your trusted/known traveler info into your profile.

I have my Global Entry info in my United Airlines profile. When I checked in online it showed that I was eligible for the TSA Pre-check security line.

On the UA website where do you enter the Global Entry number? I'm not seeing anyplace to enter it. Thanks

Hi yestravel! In your Mileage Plus profile, click on "Edit Traveler." Near the top of the page, you should see a box to enter your "Known Traveler Number/Pass ID." That's where it goes.

Nevermind I think I found it. Once its entered into your profile do you need to enter it for each trip?

Nope, once it is in your profile it should automatically get pulled into any ticket you purchase when logged into your account.
Do note that TSA PreCheck is not available at all airports, and for security reasons it may occasionally not appear on your boarding pass.

Thanks -- yes, I know it is only available with certain airports and airlines at this time. Fortunately the 3 airports in the DC area have it. Just used Global entry for the first time on our return from Turkey yesterday and it was wonderful.

LAX T6 and BOS both had separate dedicated lines for TSA Pre-check. The instructions given when I checked in said to use those lines, so I did. Nobody in front of me in those lines.

My previous experience (last year) with TSA Pre-Check was at LAX T7 where you get in the same line as everyone else. Then when you get to the stand where the agent checks your ID and scans your bp. It was at that point where one time I was sent to the pre-check line and the other time with everyone else.

So I knew, the day before travel when I checked in, that I was going to be able to use the dedicated pre-check lines.

The only caution on Pre-Check is that it is not necessarily 100%. Your boarding pass may say it and you could still be bumped back to the regular line. It is, TSA says, random.
