Flight to Phoenix, AZ $89.
Boarding in group A $10.

Standing up in your seat looking at the back row losers with an evil grin - priceless!

There is some other party who also does it and has for a couple of years same fee, guess southwest got smart and decided they could use that extra $10. per person just a well.

SW has agresssively tried to shut down the "boardfirsts" of this world and has been successful more then once.

I think it's pretty funny that "no fee" is now giving you a "fee"

We just booked flights for a weekend trip at the end of September, Burbank to Sacramento and I noticed the new "fee" - not sure if we are going to take advantage as it will add $40 to the trip, for two, both ways and I am kind of curious to see how many people do. You can do this early bird thing up to 25 hours before your flight, so I'm going to wait and think about it. We usually check our bags, for various reasons, and so having first grabs at overheads does not concern me - DH did say one of us could pay the fee, get on early and save the other a seat. We shall see.

How much difference between paying Bus. Select fare and paying "Anytime Fare" plus Early Bird fee ($10 each way = $20 on RT?)?
