Food in checked luggage?
This is a bit of an odd question but -
Would I have any problems putting a bag of hashbrowns in my checked luggage? I mean problems with security, not with the actual bag. It's just literally frozen hash browns bought from a grocery store. Brief domestic flight (about 4 hours). Obviously, they would be unfrozen in a couple hours, but I don't see any problem with that. |
Enjoy the hashbrown at your destination. No problem,
but I have to ask, why? |
Unless a TSA agent sees it and wants it for lunch. ;)

Hi Pidge -
I live in a remote area of Indonesia where many food items are impossible to come by, so I've been transporting food in my luggage routinely for years. Sure it sounds weird, but you do what you have to do. Security doesn't give a hoot about food in luggage, Although there might be an issue if something leaks, or reeks or otherwise offends. In other words, leave the durian at home. Hashbrowns though, no problem. |
Thanks for your replies.
I don't like the hashbrowns in Florida, LOL. So I thought, "Why not take a bag with me?" (Do my own cooking.) |
Saw your thread on the same topic on the US forum. Seems you've got everyone intrigued about these special Canadian hashbrowns.
