FLYING WITH MILES

ANY TIPS ON FLYING WITH MILES? HOW TO GO TRANSATLANTIC WITHOUT USING UP A LOT? BEST TIME TO BOOK? USUALLY WITH DELTA...

Orlando_Vic Mar 19th, 2010 05:42 PM

wildbird1275,

That is a very broad and general question. Without a more narrow focus, I wouldn't begin to know how to respond.

You might want to begin perusing some of the material on FlyerTalk, specifically http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/delta-skymiles-665/

Delta uses a 3 tier mileage system. NA to Europe requires Low = 30k miles each way, Med 45k, or High 62.5k.

You can book flights on the website.

My only advice is to try to book well ahead of time, esp. if you are flying during peak travel times. 6 mos. has worked for me and don't forget to ask about partner carriers if Delta is booked or blacked our during those dates that you want. Being flexible w/ your dates helps too. Good luck. Larry :-)

Is there a reason you are shouting?

NoFlyZone Mar 29th, 2010 02:08 PM

If you managed to get a low tier award with Delta you would be shouting, too!!!

Good going, Bird.
