Flying in late June
 

I plan to take two nieces from Washington DC to London and Paris in late June. When is the best time to book cheap flights? I've been checking fares and they are over $1300 now. I've tried several booking sites suggested in these forums, but can't find anything less than $1000--and that involves a stopover. Is November/December too early to book flights for June travel?

IMO it is too early, but of course we can't know with any certainty it will get better. Buying plane tickets is always a crapshoot and one can never know which way pricing will go. If it were me I would give it another month or two, then book when you see a price that you are OK with.

We fly to London or Paris around that time each year and the bad news is it's high season and not likely that there will be much in the way of sale fares. My best advice is to get a handle on the dates you want to travel and what, if any, flexibility you will have, then watch for promotions. The way things are going, though, don't expect much. If you want to get the lowest fare keep in mind alternative routing and non-US flagged carriers.
You can also sign up for fare alerts with Travelocity, setting up specific routes about which you want to be notified.
