Flying business class, friend in economy

I am flying business class and will have access to AA's Bus/First class lounge. My friend is in economy . . . any chance she can visit the lounge with me?

Thanks,
Sandy (in Denton)

Generally not unless she has elite status (Platinum or higher) with AA. However, depending on the airport (DFW?) you can ask the people at the lounge desk and they might make an exception. I'm assuming this is an overseas flight; if not then neither of you would have access to a domestic Admirals Club.

I'm sure your friend can buy a day pass for the lounge. Something like $50, if I recall correctly. Look on aa.com.

As Gardyloo mentions - where you are flying will determine if even you will have free access.

San Juan, Puerto Rico . . . it might be domestic but it sounds international!

I'm pretty sure you don't have complimentary access either

From the above linked website: >>Customers in First# or Business Class traveling to or from Europe, Asia, South America, Central America and Mexico City only, have lounge access. All other international* destinations are excluded from the benefit of lounge access.<<

. . . which doesn't include Puerto Rico.

So AFAIK you'd both need to bay a day pass.

Puerto Rico is part of the US, so nothing international about it...

True -- I was just remarking re sandy's >>San Juan, Puerto Rico . . . it might be domestic but it sounds international!<<

But in any case that doesn't matter - business class domestic flyers don't have free access to Admirals Clubs except on a few non-stop transcontinental flights (only CA to NY or Miami AFAIK)

International Business class allows you to take 1 guest in to the Admirals club.

But AFAIK Puerto Rico (or anyplace in the Caribbean) doesn't qualify as 'international' . . .

I asked question about access for myself, flying on a first class (bought with FF miles) ticket Boston-Texas and was surprised to learn I did not have club access. So you may both be sitting together at the boarding gate.

International Business class allows you to take 1 guest in to the Admirals club.

Actually, only first class international passengers (which indeed doesn't cover Caribbean, Canadian or most Mexican/Central America destinations) can guest one person into the AC or Flagship Lounge, not business class pax. I think this might be a change - formerly the above was right - but not sure. Scroll down to the "guest access" drop-down box to see the official table for admit policies.
