Flights booked for 2006 (so far....)
TPA = Tampa
19-25JAN - TPA-DUB-TPA (Dublin) AA only 6-9FEB - TPA-LAS-TPA (Las Vegas) AA only 28FEB-1APR - TPA-GIG-MVD-EZE-SCL-IPC-LIM-TPA (Rio, Montevideo, Buenos Aires, Santiago, Easter Island, Lima) AA, BA and LAN 9-15MAY - TPA-NRT-TPA (Tokyo) AA only 13-18JUN - TPA-NGO-TPA (Nagoya) AA and JL Most of these trips have connecting flights but I only listed stops. About 80K miles of actual flying by the end of June. Plus in the last couple of years I averaged about 50K in the second half of the year and most of it in the last 3 months. I don't expect for that to change, but I don't know the destinations yet. Happy flying to everybody! |
That looks like a lot of fun. You will be in Tokyo during a Grand Sumo Tournament (www.sumo.or.jp) and it will be baseball season.
|
Only one-half of a trip:
1/2 MXP-EWR-IAH. And MXP will be a new airport "collection" for me. |
About 50k qualifying miles on Air Canada, and one leg on CX or Dragonair:
YHZ-YUL-CDG return in early February. Presently booking YHZ-YYZ-PEK, PEK-HKG, HKG-YYZ-YOW, YOW-YHZ in April. I usually make a YHZ-YYZ trip bi-monthly to see my 97-year old dad. I use AC's City Pass, which is the slickest product ever offered. (Pre-pay 10 one way trips; book, change, cancel at any time; upgrade to J the day before the flight if space is available; 150% Q-miles for travelling in J). YHZ-YUL-CDG again in the fall. Ah, the joys of retirement! Anselm |
-SXM / CDG / FCO and return for a week in March.
-SXM / SJU / JFK and return for a week in April. -SXM / MIA for a week and return in September. |
I just wish that you can tell us where you are going and what airlines are you using as not all of us are so familiar with the airport and airline codes as you are. For example, YHZ-YYZ-PEK, PEK-HKG, HKG-YYZ-YOW, YOW-YHZ?
|
YHZ - Halifax, Nova Scotia
YOW - Ottawa, Ontario YUL - Montreal, Quebec PEK - Beijing, China HKG - Hong Kong, China SXM (from Statia's post) is St. Maaten in the Netherland Antilles. If you do a Google search or on airliners.net, you can find lots of pictures of planes flying over a nice beach, just feet over all the sunbathers. I'd say it has one of the most photogenic approach along with the old Kai Tak in Hong Kong (closed). |
Oh, and YYZ is Toronto, Ontario.
|
SFO - I forgot the Newark abbreviation - TLV RT in March. NWR? EWR? on Continental.
What is MXP? |
Newark is EWR.
MXP is Milan Malpensa. [Their other airport Linate is LIN.] |
Pat2003, sorry for all the codes. I must have thought I was over at FlyerTalk!
In addition to the ones rkkwan mentioned, CDG is Paris. Anselm |
Nothing booked yet, but I have placed a tentative hold on the following award ticket and I will probably book in the next few days (I won't speak in codes):
Austin to London Gatwick 4.5 days later London Gatwick to Madeira, Portugal to attend a wedding Another 4.5 days later Madeira to London Gatwick for overnight layover, home to Austin next day. I had booked a trip to Egypt in January 2006, but I had to cancel due to an unfortunate turn of events. Thankfully it was booked as an award ticket, so no huge loss. |
In addition, SJU is San Juan, Puerto Rico and FCO is Rome, Italy. Sorry for the code speak. :)
|
ORD-SIN-ORD in January, ORD-HKG-SIN-HKG-ORD in March....
Happy travels to all in 2006!! Dave |
march/april 2006 - BOS-CDG-KEF-BOS
One night on the way back soaking in the Blue Lagoon. Wish I could do more. This will probably be it for the year. |
7 march: ito, hno, oak, sfo, lhr, lun, mfuwe and return 28 march. thinking botswana in november but we'll see
|
Detroit-Frankfurt-Paris-Detroit in March.
NWA (with European trains getting me from Paris to Frankfurt, with stops in Amsterdam and Brussels in between). |
All those codes are making my head spin.
|
Happy flying to everyone

Mar 8-14 Charleston - Paris
CHS-LGA-JFK-CDG CDG-ATL-CHS Delta Only Apr 9-13 Charleston - London CHS-ATL-LGW LGW-ATL-CHS Delta (onhold looking to switch to Continental) Jun 17-20 Charleston - Los Angeles CHS-ATL-LAX LAX-ATL-CHS Looking for something in August and between Christmas and New Years as well! |
09/15/06 NRT(Tokyo)>BKK(Bangkok)> ATH (Athens)
09/25/06 ATH > BKK> NRT |
here is the rest of the story...:-)
June 13-19 TPA-KIX-TPA (Osaka) August TPA-SFO-TPA (San Francisco) August SFO-DCA-SFO (Washington DC) September TPA-ANC-TPA (Anchorage) November TPA-LGW-TPA (London) November TPA-DUB-TPA (Dublin) December TPA-DUB-TPA (Dublin) There will probably be at least 2 more trips, one to Chicago and one to ? but nothing confirmed just yet. |
Here's mine:
March: ORD-TUL-ORD (Tulsa) March: ORD-PHX-ORD (Phoenix) March: ORD-OGG-ORD (Maui) June: ORD-NCE-ORD (Nice) June/July: ORD-JAX-ORD (Jacksonville) July: ORD-NRT, KIX-ORD (Tokyo, Osaka) October: ORD-LGA (New York) Plus maybe a business trip or two. That will probably take me to about 40K EQMs (United), so I'll need to pick up another 10K later in the year. |
1) Jan: LAX-IAD-PVD-IAD-LAX (Providence)
2) Feb: LAX-LAS-LAX* (Las Vegas) 3) Mar: LGB-LAS-LGB (LGB= Long Beach) 4) Mar: LAX-IAD-LAX (Washington Dulles) 5) Apr: SNA-SFO-NGO-SFO-SNA* (Nagoya) 6) May: LAX-ORD-SDF-ORD-LAX* (Louisville) 7) May: LAX-IAD-LAX 8) May: SNA-LAS-SNA (SNA=Orange County) 9) Jun: LGB-JFK-LGB* (jetBlue award) 10) Jun-Jul: LAX-LHR-DUB-LHR-LAX (Dublin) 11) Aug: LAX-HNL-LAX* (Honolulu) 12) Nov: LAX-SFO-HKG-SGN-HKG-SFO-LAX (HCMC, Vietnam) * these 5 of the 12 tickets are "free" That's 49000 miles on UA. If UA has the double-EQM offer then a MR (or is it DER for double EQM run) to EZE or SIN would keep me at 1K status (and use up my last two SWUs). |

Absent a whole heap of unplanned business or personal travel in the second half of the year, there's no way we'll renew our EXP status with AA; next year is more likely with a new RTW (perhaps piggybacked on the "error" trip to Cyprus sold by Alitalia a couple of months ago.) |
AAFF:
"TPA-LGW-TPA (London)" You're not going on American? |
Most of the trips I posted involve connections. :-), I just didn't see a need to post the entire itn.
Yes it's AA, already upgraded, and the actual route is TPA-DFW-LGW-DFW-TPA. If I get lucky, it may be 767 with the new J seats..... It's all about the miles.......:-D |
Gardyloo wins!
SF to Syndey in October (won RT airfare for two) SF to Nashville in November ($170 RT, caught a short AA sale a few weeks ago) ...so far |
Well, stupid me. I didn't realize AA flew into Gatwick. I thought they only flew to LHR.
|
2 flights a day from Dallas, a 777 and a 767
1 flight a day from Raleigh-Durham. a 777 |
I can't beat Gardyloo but I'll ad my flights to this thread. AA, sorry, I'm loyal to UA.
Early Jan 06, ORD-SJU-ORD for a cruise Last half of Jan 06, ORD-BKK-ORD Early Feb 06, ORD-LAS-ORD Late Mar/early Apr 06, ORD-FRA-ZRH-ORD FUTURE PLANS for the rest of 06 August 06, ORD-HNL-ORD Sept 06, ORD-BKK-ORD Oct 06, ORD-MHT-ORD Late Nov 06, ORD-FRA-ZRH-ORD There just might be one more ORD-FRA trip in maybe late June or early July this summer, as DH and I need to go to Germany to do some research and museum visits. Carol |
Unlike AAFF, I posted connections, so it's not that impressive, believe me. Plus I don't think trips up and down the west coast are particularly noteworthy. Flying Alaska Airlines these days, if I limited it to on-time flights, it would be a very short list indeed.
|

Ed |

One way San Francisco - Chicago for September. No, I am not moving :) Taking Amtrak back (reserved too!)
|
Amtrak? That's great! I wish Amtrak would get their act together. I used to take the train from St. Louis to Kansas City for long weekends. Took it to Chicago when I was a teenager.
