Flight to Hawaii - seatback movies?

We're starting to plan our first trip to Hawaii (we live in Connecticut). On recent BA flights to/from Europe, we've been spoiled with the great seatback movie offerings -- they really help pass the time more comfortably.

So is that standard with US airlines? Any experience to share out there, or is there a place where I can look that up before I cave and buy a DVD player?

From what I understand, the only US domestic flights to Hawaii with personal video monitor is Continental.

UA's 2-class 777s don't (their International ones do), AA and DL's 767 don't either.

Not sure about Hawaiian, but I doubt it.

You could probably look on the airlines websites. We flew United in May to Maui from San Diego, and they did not have individual tv screens.

The flight I recently took on Hawaiian did not have seatback screens. It was really difficult to see the movie from many parts of the cabin.

Thanks to all for the information.

<sigh> Our expectations have been shifted by transatlantic experience. I guess if the airlines can get away with calling pretzels "food", pax entertainment is going to be waaay off their radar screens (so to speak)!

I seem to recall seeing DVD players for rent at Cincinatti airport -- has anyone tried that service? Is it widely available?
