Flight to Flint with stop in Detroit...Can I get off?

I am flying from Pennsylvania to Flint through Detroit. I really don't want to fly all the way to Flint but purchased this ticket b/c it was cheaper. Has anyone gotten off their plane at the layover and not gotten back on? I have heard they will cancel my return flight home if I do this? Is there any way around it? Thanks.

This is a common occurence. People find that if they purchase a ticket to a small city with a connection to the city they actually want to go to it's cheaper than actually buying a ticket to that hub city. I have not heard of an airline canceling the returning flight.

Yes, your return flight will likely be cancelled. Do not try this.

Your return will definitely be cancelled. It's automatic these days.

Basically you are trying to bypass fare rules, and maybe few years ago it was somewhat possible, it's not anymore. The computer will do it automatically.

Try it, you won't like it!
