flight to Athens

I have been checking flights for Athens from Detroit. As of today Delta has the best price of $1882.00 Canadian for the two of us. I had been planning on British Airways but the price difference is huge. (about $500.00) Anyone have an opinion on which airline is better. Some of the stuff I have read about Delta is not very favourable. We would be going in May so I suppose there is no rush but I like to get it sorted early.

Of those you named, the only one I'm very familiar with is BA. I have flown BA to Athens before and it was fine, but I wouldn't pay $500 more for it.

This is quite early to be buying tickets for a flight in May. I would suggest you keep alert for any sales until the end of February; if there haven't been sales by then, go ahead and take the best price. You might also post an inquiry at the cheap flights forum at

http://eurotrip.com

They have people there who find out about good deals before anywhere else I have found.

Delta was the official USA carrier to Greece for the recent Olympics and all of the NBC crews covering it flew it nonstop from JFK to Athens. If the price is $1882 for two and its Canadian-I would think that thats a good price?
