Flight delays worst in 13 years

Flight delays were the worst in 13 years, according to a report Monday from the Department of Transportation. Only 72 percent of domestic flights on major U.S. carriers were on time between January and April this year.

Should be worse this summer.

It's going to keep getting worse. The number of flights is increasing every year. The air traffic controllers keep retiring. Air traffic facilities are understaffed and having to add delays because they can't handle the amount of traffic. It's going to get much worse before it gets better.

FWI, it takes about 3 year of on the job training to become certified as a controller...so replacing the retirees is a long process.
