Flight changes?

Just noticed the price on my already reserved flight to Belize City on AA has dropped by half. Anyone have experience trying to get the lower fare? Just cancel the first, eat the charge and make a new reservation?

If you've purchased a non-refundable ticket you can't just cancel. AA used to give vouchers if the price dropped; I'm not sure if this policy has changed.

Unless you have purchased a fully refundable ticket, you're out of luck. If it's non-refundable, you can find out how much a change fee is, and decide whether the change fee is less than the difference than the price change.

AA does not give any refund anymore on price drops.

You were right. With the price dropping from $800+ to $300+ I had a $200 change fee and a voucher for the rest. Worth it in this case, however.

Glad to hear it worked out for you.
