Flight

I am flying with Lufthansa from Minneapolis nach cicago from there to London,GB and than to Stuttgart Germany. Does anyone know how much weight the suitcases are allowed to have since it is first in the US and than international flight. And I heard about special limits for London carry on bags? Thanks

Lufthansa doesn't fly from Minneapolis to Chicago or Chicago to London. You're likely flying on a code share flight operated by United for those segments. Checked luggage limit is 50lbs, unless you have Star Alliance Gold status. You're only allowed one carry-on when connecting through London.

Sorry, my response wasn't complete re: checked luggage.

Economy Class
2 bags, maximum 50 pounds/23kg each

First or Business Class
2 bags, maximum 70 pounds/32kg each

1K, Premier Executive and Star Alliance Gold Members
3 bags, maximum 70 pounds/32kg each

You are only allowed one bag with maximum dimensions 56x45x25cm when you pass through security at Heathrow. If you have 2 carry on bags then you could put them in a plastic bag to make the one bag as long as the dimensions don't exceed the above

would I have to go through secruity there? Since it would be the first aiport would I also have to go there through customs instad of Stuttgart?

You will go through security in London, but nothing else.

You're not entering UK or Ireland, so there's no reason for you to go through UK immigration or customs.

and just a friendly reminder.....

Just because it is a Lufthansa flight number, you will be checking in with the operating airline so don't look for Lufthansa ticket station.

Look at your reservation. It should read something like:

Lufthansa Flight #7890
(operated by ?)

The ? stands for the actual airline that you need to get the boarding passes from during check in in Minneapolis.
