First Time AA Business Class
 

I've never taken Business Class or First class. What services should I expect from AA flying Baltimore-BWI to Dallas-DFW then onto Honolulu-HON?
I want to make sure I'm aware of what is offered as these tickets cost a TON of money.

For BWI-DFW you'll be on one of AA's MD-80s, a twin engine jet. You'll have better knee room then in the back, a wider seat, a meal and complementary drinks including alcohol, but that's about it. There is no in-flight entertainment offered on those planes.

From DFW to HNL you'll be in a 767 wide-body jet, with newly-installed lie-flat (but not horizontal) seats with something like 60" of legroom. There will not be in-seat video entertainment, just "main screen" movies and in-seat audio. The service will be excellent, the food pretty good, and decent wines and beverages on offer.

American labels these flights as first class when you're on all-USA routes. The same cabins and service are called business class when they entail a destination in the Caribbean, Mexico, Canada, or anywhere else overseas.

From BWI to Hawaii is a very long way, and the real benefit of riding up front is that you'll feel like a human being when you land.

No access to the lounge in Dallas unless one is a member.

There are, however, a number of bars close to the gates at DFW, none of which feature seat belts.
