22,240 actual flight miles on 7 award trips. Half of that travel was on one United award ticket earned by a special offer (GATW), not miles.

62,507 actual paid flight miles.

Over 90% of that was on United and a small amount on USair/AW and jetBlue.

Mileage Plus Elite Qualifying Miles (EQMs):
6897 Class of service bonus EQMs
7561 MP Platinum Visa EQMs
22346 Double EQM offer
=====
36804 total bonus EQMs
66245 Flight EQMs
======
103,049 total EQMs = just enough for 1K!

39 Elite Qualifying Segments
11 bonus EQS from Double EQS offer
0.5 class of service bonus EQS
===
50.5 EQS (should be 51 but MP didn't give me one COS bonus, but it doesn't matter).

All those numbers are YTD. The class of service bonuses came on two trips flying on economy class tickets that were upgraded with systemwide upgrades (SWUs). On both trips a flight was cancelled (one bmi and one United) and I was put on later flights and my booking class was changed to C so I got the business class bonuses when flying on economy tickets (and got back the SWUs). Those bonuses were critical for making 1K.

I'm at the O'Hare Red Carpet Club waiting to board my last flight for the year, to Phoenix. When I arrive later this morning, my 2006 totals will be:

Actual flight miles (BIS): 53,671

EQMs: 53,779 (fewer than above because one segment was less than 500 miles)

EQSs: 25 -- 23 on United, 2 on Lufthansa

2 for 5 in attempts to upgrade domestic segments with e-upgrades (ORD-LGA; SNA-ORD)

1 for 1 in attempts to upgrade domestic segments with miles (OGG-ORD)

Current e-upgrade balance: 20 (500 miles per)

Miles redeemed in 2006: 255,000 Mileage Plus (mostly for tickets to Australia next year); 25,000 Aadvantage (for daughter's ticket)

Not spectacular, but I did re-qualify for Premier Exec the hard way.

Re: the EQMs, I meant to say "more than above because one segment was less than 500 miles"...that's what happens when I try to write anything before finishing my coffee.

Without going into all the nitty gritty details, I have 50,123 EQM's on UA (and Swiss and Lufthansa) for 2006, so I just managed to keep my Premier Exec status with them. My wings were clipped this year due to a family member's serious health problem. Otherwise, I'd have had more like 75k.

I "spent" something like 60,000 points to upgrade on my (one only this year) trip to BKK from ORD. I've used 500 mile mileage coupons to upgrade about six times on flights in this country.

I also JUST "spent" about 65,000 miles "buying" a couple of items from UA's mileage plus "elite member" shopping sight. I "bought" a set of nice pots/pans for someone else for 27,500 miles and then bought myself a nice Hartmann 22" carry-on bag for 37,000 or 39,000 or something like that. The Hartmann is for ME.

I still have just under 300,000 ff miles to spend on upgrades in 2007 and onward. I don't spend my miles for free tickets. I know some people do a free ticket just as soon as they save enough miles.

Have a wonderful New Year and I hope 2007 is filled with lots of ff miles for everyone!

My EQM is laughable, so won't even mention here.

Actual flight miles is about 38,400, including NAP-LGW coming up on 12/31. Segment will be 15.

More significant is the number of new airports for myself this year. Will have visited these new ones: MXP, SZX, LNJ, STN, PMO and NAP.

Will also have flown some new airlines: China Southern, China Eastern, Shenzhen, Ryanair and British Airways.

Can't be bothered to tally my miles as I mostly fly on industry discount tickets, which don't show up on my FF program statement...

Lots of flying, but not that many new airlines or airports, unfortunately. Still, no really bad flights, so no complaints.

New airports:
- ATH (had flown there before, but to the old airport which has since closed)
Great airport... when security check is not on strike

- BIL
Nice small airport, unfortunately my first SSSS experience as well...

New airlines:
- Aegean
Excellent

- Air Berlin (first time on their own metal)
Very good

- Clickair
OK

New airplane types:
- A340
Very quiet, nice plane to fly. Wasn't that impressed with the seats (Swiss biz class), but of course everything is relative ;-)

Wishing everyone a happy new year and lots of great flights in 2007!

Oh, let's see...
Around 63,000 BIS miles
78 segments
redeemed 4 saver economy to Europe 200,000 miles
RCC membership 40,000 miles
325,000 miles available
still a 1P but deferred some trips until 2007 since there was no way I'd make 1K.

Not that it matters, but all of my numbers are off by one flight (JAX-ORD) that hadn't posted to my account when I added up 2006 totals.

New airports in 2006:
NCE-Nice, FR
AMS-Amsterdam
NRT-Narita/Tokyo
KIX-Kansai/Osaka
TUL-Tulsa
