You can only get a credit voucher for the difference IF THE FARE DECREASED AND IS BOOKED IN THE SAME CLASS OF SERVICE. The airlines have gotten very savvy over the years and avoided coming out with new fares in the same class of service. Delta now has a T class..sometimes U and L are their lower fares. AA has N and sometimes L and V.

I just had a very unpleasant encounter with Delta. I purchased a ticket to Rome using the Delta.com website. A week later, the fare went down about $250. I called Delta immediately and was told that because I had purchased the ticket on line, they would not honor the lower fare or give me a voucher for the difference. I should add that the fare quoted on line was the same as the fare quoted if you called the airline directly. In the past, American Airlines had given my husband and me vouchers for over $350 each because of reduced fares. Needless to say, I will never use Delta.com again.

NIKI, if Delta is anything like AA.com, you should be able to find the number to Delta.com web help desk somewhere on the site. That's the number you have to call to have any chance of geting a rebate, not the regular Delta reservation #. You have to think of Delta.com as a seperate entity, almost like a travel agent, not really the airline itself.
Look for the number and try again.
Good Luck!
