Emirates mile redemption?

Jump to last reply

My son has 27,000 miles with Emirates and will lose them next week if he doesn't use them. He lives in the UK and will be starting a PHD program in the fall there for the next three years. He had wanted to use them between Dubai and Delhi (as he used to live and work in Delhi for a couple years) however, this would involve him having to buy a ticket between London to Dubai which I think is stupid to do and expensive. He has asked me to help him figure out what to do with them .

Having looked at their awards site, they sure don't have much to redeem for with low miles. All of the hotels are high end;foreign countries chains with the exception of Marriott, Starwood and Hilton.

The only choice I see is buying some type of their dutyfree crap on the awards site. Does anyone have any suggestions how you redeemed your Emirates miles? Thanks for any help!
