Economy Plus

Has anyone flown on the BA World Traveller Plus or Virgin's Premium Economy? Was it worth the extra expense?
I am looking at flying my elderly mother to Denmark and need to be as comfortable as possible while not breaking the bank.

Going to Denmark, you should put your mom on SAS to Copenhagen. SAS has premium economy called "Economy Extra" that's 7-abreast on their Airbuses (vs 8), 37" pitch (vs 32") and extra recline.

SAS flies from Washington Dulles, Chicago, Seattle, Newark. They are part of Star Alliance and you can connect using United and USAirways.

I flew on SAS E+ IAD-CPH a couple of weeks ago. It was very good. The E+ section is in a small, separate cabin and we got upgraded food and beverage service to go along with the extra legroom. It's definitely the way to go.

Thanks for the info on SAS. It does seem to be the most direct flight. I could fly from Sacramento instead of having to go to SF...much more convenient. I am a little concerned about the impending strike...Anyone have any information?

Your wine will be in a glass on BA Economy Plus. Instead of 10 across on the 747, there is only 8, so you shouldn't have to ask more than one person to get up when you use the toilet.

I think Virgin's Prem Economy will give you a better value. Virgin's seat size is about the same as the US carriers Business Class, but service is economy class level. If taking 747, I recommend getting seating at upper deck (note – I know only flights between New York and London).

I was not impressed with BA’s World Traveler Plus. I felt that my seat was only a inch wider than economy class, and their service was rather rough (between Hong Kong and London).
