easyjet check-in experience

hi fodorites,

DH and i are flying easyjet from BCN to CDG in october. our flight departs BCN at 9:55 am. i've read on their website that check-in will open two hours before the flight departs (so, 7:55 am). we will each have one carry-on (small backpack) and one piece of checked luggage.

a few questions:

1. it's such a short flight and we're not fussed about seats ... i.e. don't care if we sit together, don't care about aisle, window, etc. is there anything i'm overlooking re: seats? i've only ever taken one other flight that had no assigned seating ... it was a tiny plane from thunder bay to sault ste. marie, ontario. and all the locals advised me to RUN to the back of the plane to snag one of the 'better' seats. (not sure if it made a difference - i'm not a nervous/uncomfortable flier).

2. is there any reason to get to the airport EARLIER than 7:55 am? and if so, how MUCH earlier should we arrive? we're planning to catch the 7 am aerobus from placa cataluyna ... which will hopefully put us @ the airport between 7:45 - 8 am.

thank you!

"is there anything i'm overlooking re: seats?" - do you want to sit together? Do you mind having the middle seat between two strangers? Do you mind being on the sunny side of the plane?

Usually the Easyjet ticket counters open on time, but I've also seen one open early. And there may well already be a queue when it opens, plus maybe people with no checked luggage can check in on line. (I might be confusing EJ with BA on this.)

Easy Jet will have a time that you have to be checked in by. You can't just be in line at that time, check in has to be completed by that time.

#1 No
#2 No, makes no sense. Usually check-in counters are assigned just those 2hrs prior to departure. So even if you were there 3hrs before, you would not know where to line up.

hi all,

thanks for all the information. we'll plan to arrive at least 2 hrs before the flight and go from there.
