Driver's License Expired and TSA

Son flying from San Diego to St. Louis next week and still waiting on his renewed driver's license.

He has his old license and the renewal paperwork from DMV. He will also take his SS card, bill showing his home address and a credit card for additional verification to establish who he is. He does not have a passport or other picture I.D.

Any other suggestions for satisfying the TSA requirements?

Thank you.

Sandy

Sandy - The expired DL with DMV receipt for renewal may well be OK. The other documents will not help because they are not photo ID's. Do allow a little extra time for processing just in case... have a gander at http://blog.tsa.gov/2013/04/tsa-trav...n-you-fly.html

TSA's website indicates that a SS card or birth certificate may be used to help verify identity. His SS card, plus the expired license could be sufficient, but I'd allow for extra time to get through security.

Seamus and indyhiker:

Thanks for responding.

When it is all over I will report back as to what happened.

I cannot imagine him having a problem. But then, the TSA can make a mountain out of any molehile.
