Domestic Airlines in Myanmar

HI all,
We are going to Myanmar and have the choice of 5 domestic airlines for flights within the country. Two are fairly new-Asian Wings and Air Kanazawa. Others are Air Mandalay, Air Bagan and Air Yangon. Does anyone have any safety information on any of these?. Has anyone flown on any? I need to make a decision soon and I want to make it based on safety. Would you risk flying on the newly formed Air Kanazawa.? Not much is published on this. Thanks.

I have just come back from Myanmar and flew both Air Bagan and Air Mandalay. both were absolutely fine and I would recommend. ( they were also recommended by Santa Maria my TA)

Interestingly, Santa Maria booked me on Air Kanazawa.which just started up in April. I have asked them to rebook me on Air Mandalay and Air Bagan, which they said they would do.

I saw the other airline when we were at the airport, seemed like quite a busy airline as they had several flights out of Yangon. I wouldn't worry, they only one I wouldn't fly would be myanamar international

From what I can tell, Air Kanazawa bought the old Myanmar Air. I think they bought the planes and routes from the government..

BTW, are you going to do a TR on your Burma visit.

The safety record on MA was not good, that's why I wouldn't want to fly them!
Yes I will do a TR on my Burma visit just haven't gotten round to it yet....
