Does shaving cream go in the 1 QT bag?
 

I'm traveling to Mexico in 2 weeks -- trying to figure out if shaving cream is considered a liquid/gel/cream etc.

I know this sounds like a completely dumb question ... and yes I've looked on the TSA site. The don't mention shaving cream. I haven't flown since they put this new rule into effect -- can anyone help me out?

The travel size can I bought is under 3oz, I guess worse comes to worse I just pitch it at security.

It's not solid, so I'll say it goes into the zip-lock.

Shaving cream in a can is an aerosol therefore if you are doing carryon you can only take 3 oz or less and it has to fit in yout qt. size zip-lock bag. From the TSA web-site:

All liquids, gels and aerosols must be in three-ounce or smaller containers. Larger containers that are half-full or toothpaste tubes rolled up are not allowed. Each container must be three ounces or smaller.
All liquids, gels and aerosols must be placed in a single, quart-size, zip-top, clear plastic bag. Gallon size bags or bags that are not zip-top such as fold-over sandwich bags are not allowed. Each traveler can use only one, quart-size, zip-top, clear plastic bag.

Yes, it does. I have made it through security once or twice when I forgot and left it in my toilet bag, but have also had my bag pulled for inspection when I did that and was told that it is covered by the 311 rule.

Funnily enough the regulations refer to creams, gells and liquids so it is not suprising that something called "Shaving Cream" is included !!

I knew I wouldn't escape this question without a snarky answer. Ah, the beauty of the internet!

So the response wasnt unexpected then.

Sorry it is clear cream is cream, and therefore whether it be shaving or dairy cream it is included.
