Does Delta SkyClub 30-day mbrship = access to Air Fr lounge in Paris?

Hello, I was thinking of getting a 30-day Delta SkyClub membership for lounge access while I'm in Paris Charles de Gaulle airport for 8 hours (between long trips). Delta's website says the 30-day membership includes access to the Air France lounge in Terminal 2E, but then there's all the small print (up to partner discretion, etc.). I would like to know if in practice the 30-day membership gets you into that lounge or not.

I heard it may make a difference if I have an actual plastic membership card, as opposed to an internet confirmation printout. Can anyone attest to the veracity of this? I would be able to buy the membership in the airport in the States before my layover, if it really makes a difference.

Thanks!

From delta.com:

"30-Day members will not receive permanent membership cards. Temporary membership cards can be obtained in-Club and printed if purchased online. The temporary membership card printout will not grant access to partner lounges, only to Delta Sky Club locations. Partner lounges require actual temporary membership cards, which may be obtained from any Delta Sky Club location."

You need to get a temporary card from one of the DL Sky Club first. Cannot use just the printouts for the AF lounge. So, buy the membership at a DL lounge, not online.

The partner clubs are often quite negative about granting admission. I was denied access in the Air France club in Milan even with a <u>full 3 year membership</u>, Gold Elite Status and a Business Class ticket until I produced a print-out from the Delta web site that specifically listed all the accessable clubs.

<i>"Your Delta Sky Club Membership includes access to these airline partner club locations:" </i>

No idea why I ever printed that bit out and carried it along, but sure glad I had it. They flatly denied access to the gentleman behind me because he had forgotten his Club card. They refused to look up his membership number and tossed him out.

So.....go prepared.

Thanks for these very helpful replies! When I was on Delta's website I saw an ad for the Delta Amex, but it doesn't seem to correspond to the cards listed above b/c the annual fee was I think $90 or so, not $400+. I wonder if it also includes club access.

In any case, I will be sure to print out the Delta website list of clubs the mbrship is supposed to ensure access to, and buy the mbrship from a SkyClub location!

Thanks again for these very useful tips.

As a DL flyer I've been in several AF clubs the past couple of weeks and the AF ersonnel could not have been more lovely.

Aside, the AF lounge in 2E at CDG (the one in the original 2E terminal) is superb. Not only is wine freely available at eight in the morning but the food is great. And the offer free massages and facials, in conjunction with Clarins.

My wife flew through Paris CDG last July., she had a temporary Sky Clubmembership ( one day) . They absolutely refused her entry. They kept asking for her "card". She called me very upset, but they were quite rude. She now has a one year Delta Sky Club card, going through CDG on July 2nd. I will definitely print out Deltas Sky Club Sky Team partner list for her. Hopefully, she won't have any problems, but in the Delta info, they state that entry is up to the partners staff's discretion. I suppose if they don't like your looks,or they are full, they could turn you away.
Don't depend on the paper confirmation, they will refuse entry.

A_P, the DL one day SC pass does not allow for entry into any AF lounge in Paris. See http://www.delta.com/traveling_check...ions/index.jsp

My husband and I and my 2 children went to the SkyClub CDG last year and we intend to do the same this year. We had a 30 day pass and were flying thru (on Economy) to Johannesburg. We were only successful in gaining access to the club when I produced copies of website pages showing them that 30 day pass members and their spouse/partner and 2 children were eligible to enter. I will most certainly produce the copies of delta's webpages showing that 30 day members have eligiblity to enter with a 30 day pass again this year.
